Neurocore Takes an Alternative Course to Mental Health

For Dr. Timothy Royer, creating Neurocore was never about curing the mind, but finding ways to improve it. Neurocore, a series of brain treatment centers headquartered Florida, has been in the news lately thanks to the Portland Trailblazers. The professional NBA team has been utilizing Neurcore’s neurofeedback and biofeedback methods to better condition their players.

The players go to a brain room after games and practices where they watch DVDs. The aim of the room is to relax their minds and condition them to boost recovery. This allows them to rest and allows better recovery for their cardiovascular, respiratory, and endocrine systems as well.

Neurocore was founded in 2004 by Dr. Royer and has since expanded to six different locations. Reinforcing the brain through relaxations techniques, activities, and exercises is at the heart of what Neurocore does. The company seeks non-invasive techniques to improve the mind without the use of drugs. The end goal is to build the brain up so it can better resist and fight conditions like depression, anxiety, and ADHD.
