Some would say Oren Frank is the embodiment of the American Dream. Born in Israel with an interest in technology, he used his innovative personality to create an app gaining serious traction, Talkspace. Talkspace is a texting therapy app where you can receive therapy without having to go to an actual therapist’s office. For more information, be sure to follow Oren Frank on social media including his Twitter page.
Oren Frank came up with the idea after attending therapy with his wife. Talkspace is significantly cheaper than traditional therapy and employs only licensed therapists. Prior to working on Talkspace, Oren Frank worked for various subsidiaries of McCann Worldgroup in Israel doing advertising and marketing. He briefly relocated to the United Kingdom to serve as the company’s regional creative director before being promoted to chief executive officer of Worldgroup Israel, allowing him to return home to Israel. During this same time period he also served as chairman of McCann Digital in Tel Aviv simultaneously. He now lives with his family in New York. Once moving to the United States back in 2008, Oren Frank worked as a blogger and columnist for entities such as the Huffington Post.
When creating Talkspace he wanted to make counseling more accessible for everyday people who deal with problems such as depression, anxiety, or relationship issues among other mental health related setbacks. The company has over 5000 possible therapists to get matched with to handle their large audience of hundreds of thousands of people. On the side, Oren Frank still writes articles for different publications. He often writes for The Marker, a daily Hebrew language business newspaper that is published in Israel. In the future, he looks to continue to ensure that Talkspace is going strong so he can continue helping millions of people with the everyday issues they face in their lives. Talkspace wants you to know you do not have to do it alone.
