Shafik Sachedina is a highly qualified, reputable dental surgeon based in London, United Kingdom. A Tanzanian citizen by birth, Dr Sachedina was born in 1950 in Dar-es-Salaam. He later settled in London and became a British national.
After arriving in the United Kingdom, Dr. Sachedina pursued an education in dental surgery from Guy’s Hospital Medical and Dental School at the University of London. He received his qualifications in 1975, and is today considered one of the premiere European dental surgeons. He holds a number of positions with several companies in the healthcare field.
Dr. Sachedina remains active in his community, and is mindful of the principles of voluntary community service. He volunteers with the Jamati Institution, where he oversees budget, planning, and event coordination. He is an active volunteer with the Aga Khan Institution as well, and performs several other important roles within the Ismaili community. Shafik Sachedina is the chairman of the FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance International Coordinating Committee; as well as a member of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Aiglemont, and the Ismaili Leaders’ International Forum. Shafik Sachedina also served two consecutive terms as President of the Ismaili Council for the United Kingdom, in a voluntary capacity.
Shafik Sachedina currently serves as the Joint Chairman at the Sussex Health Care Company. The Sussex Health Care Company is based in Sussex County, South England and provide home care and support services around the United Kingdom. Sussex provides services primarily for the elderly, with a special focus on clients who suffer from mental complications.
Dr Sachedina’s efforts with the Sussex Health Care Company allow the company to provide its clients with state of the art services, including new additions such as a specialized, dedicated gymnasium, respite care, sensory rooms, and hydrotherapy pools.
